Update on Jade’s Condition

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Jade’s recovery process has been more complex than initially anticipated. After her paperwork was approved, our rescue team faced delays because Jade was required to participate in a livestreaming show for a man who uses the broadcasts to gain stars for his own benefit. The nonstop livestreaming from early morning until late evening prevented us from taking immediate action.
As a result, her fracture worsened, with new tissue growth filling the space of the broken bone. This tissue growth and location of the fracture made internal fixation (surgical repair with tubes and rods) impossible. After thorough examination and extensive discussions with our veterinary team, we decided against surgical intervention because attempting to fix the fracture carries a very high risk of failure (estimated at 90%) and could ultimately lead to amputation, which we want to avoid at all costs.
Fortunately, Jade has adapted remarkably well. Jade’s arm is healing. It will never be perfectly straight, but she does still have both arms and can use the arm that was injured for her daily activities. She is able to groom her baby Javor, peel fruit to eat, and perform many of her usual activities, albeit with some slight differences from before.
Without surgical intervention is the most compassionate option, Currently, Jade is in good health at our center, where she is under careful care and observation. Her baby Javor is with her and both are doing well. We remain attentive to her needs and will continue to support her in every way possible, prioritizing her well-being and quality of life.
Thank you for all of the care and concern expressed for Jade. As always, the health and care of the monkeys is our first priority. We appreciate everyone who has donated to support our work. Your support enables us to help Jade and other monkeys.
